Smileys for Messenger

Smileys for MessengerNowadays, it is not possible to imagine an online chat without the use of smileys, little pictures that would show our emotions in the moment of writing, or our reactions while writing. Windows Live Messenger uses it a lot, and it even has the option to add more to our army of smileys, causing some users to have over nine thousand smileys in his/her account. Even Facebook has them, but Windows Live Messenger is the only one which you can install them.
If you get bored of your current smileys, you can always download a pack of them and install them, Hotmail’s webpage has tons of packs for you to install, but if you want something not that conventional, you can go to http://www.emoticonesmessenger.net/ and download some original smileys. This site has a ton of .gif animations, an image format that support animation and which can be used to “create your own smileys” in Hotmail.

The truth is that you’re not actually creating them, you’re just downloading and importing it into Windows Live Messenger. To do this is really easy, just log in to your hotmail account in Windows Live Messenger, go to “Tools” and click on “smileys” (or emoticons, it may vary the name). Now you can upload the .gif animation to your profile, name it and even put a name as a shortcut, like, if you write (horsy) a picture of Sarah Jessica Parker will appear.
Remember not to use the words as they are, the other way will cause smileys to pop-up in every single word of your sentence, and will get or really annoying or almost impossible to read what you’ve just wrote.

Groups in Hotmail

Groups in HotmailHaving Hotmail is something complicated indeed, you can easily make a mess out of it, either being too many mails or too many contacts can cause this. But Hotmail always have some great tools and services to help you being organized and manage everything in a tidy way (or leave everything as default and complicate yourself, you can always choose). We’ve explained how to manage your mails properly, but that is not everything you should know about organizing your account.

You must also keep in count than even when you get to manage your mails in a good way, there is also the problem that you may end up with thousand of contacts, and being too sociable can be the cause of this problem. Of course, being sociable is good and having many contacts can be really useful and come on handy most of the times, but when it comes to organize them, it can be a real pain (no, we’re not telling you not to be too sociable). But now you can have as many contacts as you wish, since Hotmail has a great tool to organize the contacts in groups, and is indeed easy to use.

To start, you must first log-in to your Hotmail account, and then click on the “Windows Live” icon to pop-up some more options. Now click on the one called “All services”, which will cause a new page to load. Now look for the option called “Groups” and click on it, so another page will load. You’ll be able to spot many options, but to create a group just click on “Create a group”, and you’ll be able to name a group and add members on it, simple as that. Once you’re done, finish this process by clicking in “Create”.
As you can see, being tidy and smart is not hard at all, you just need to know how to do it properly. Remember that Hotmail has many tools for organized people to feel comfortable in this space, just use them as you wish.
